Mignon Stanley - Special Education Teacher

Hello My Name Is...

Mignon Stanley

I am the VAC &Transition Coordinator.  I am responsible for teaching CET, working with VAC students and facilitating transition planning.

I graduated from SFA in 1984 with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Reading.  Currently, I am certified in General Special Education pre-k -12.  After teaching in Houston as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher I moved back to East Texas to teach life skill students in Onalaska, Texas.   From there I taught resource math and language classes.  In 2007, I joined the Nacogdoches High School team to teach life skills and in 2011 started my current job.

Working with high school students is rewarding yet challenging.  It is my job to ensure that my students have the skills and resources necessary to live, compete and survive after high school. By helping each student reach his or her highest potential, we create good community members.
