High School Students need close personal contact with an adult to whom they can relate. Students will meet with their advisor on a daily basis to receive information, get assistance with education and career planning, and have an adult with whom they can build a relationship. During their transition, freshmen are supported by the Freshman Mentoring Program throughout the year in their advisory.

Goals of the Advisement Program:
  1. We hope to bring about a continuous trusting and helping relationship between students and staff so that our high school can become more personalized.
  2. We will attempt to meet the total needs of individual students and their parents or guardian.
  3. We hope to improve and enhance relationships among staff members, students, and their parents or guardian. Students at Nacogdoches High School are assigned to small group advisories to allow for information distribution and community development. Students may contact their advisors for assistance in accessing other school programs.
